This policy explains what data is collected when you use the Nimble website and app. Nimble is made by SwiftLab Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. We keep this simple because Nimble collects very little.
The Nimble app
- No account. Nimble has no sign-up and no cloud service. Your repositories never pass through our servers. Git runs locally on your Mac.
- Your license. When you activate, your license key and a per-install identifier are stored in the macOS Keychain and sent to Lemon Squeezy to validate the license.
- AI features are opt-in. If you enable AI commit messages, your staged diff is sent to your chosen provider (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) using your own API key. Secrets such as API keys, tokens and
.envvalues are redacted before any request leaves your Mac. This feature is off by default and can be disabled per repository. - Diagnostics. Nimble sends anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage analytics (via Bugsnag and PostHog) to help us fix bugs and improve the app. These are never tied to your license key, email or repositories, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings. They are on by default for new installs.
The website
- Analytics. We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that collects aggregate, anonymous usage statistics. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites, so no consent banner is required.
- No advertising or third-party tracking.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and personal details (such as your email and billing country) as the data controller for that transaction. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy for details. We receive only the information needed to fulfil and support your order.
